On the 8th May we are going on a site visit to Whitelee Wind-farm at 2:30pm (note time change).
Tony Gannon, Head of New Technology Delivery from Scottish Power Renewables will give a presentation on Iberdrola/Scottish Power Renewables, Wind-farm construction and the various HSE issues around site. Everyone will go on a bus tour round the site.
Whitelee is the UK’s largest onshore wind farm, located on Eaglesham Moor just 20 minutes from central Glasgow. Its 215 turbines generate up to 539 megawatts of electricity, enough to power almost 300,000 homes.
Works have commenced to expand the car park so there may be parking restrictions in place.
Please be at the visitor centre at 2:15pm, directions are available from https://www.scottishpower.co.uk/whitelee/
No PPE is required but sturdy footwear (walking boots) and a warm, waterproof coat are recommended.
